Main rig - inside

Just taking a convenient picture I had lying around, I didn't go out of my way to specifically take a pic of the inside, just wanted to show a friend who was completely unfamiliar with this whole "LED fan" bit. Currently I'm in the process of trying to set aside some time to install a window on the side panel.

While I'm here, I might as well ask: I've got a spare red cold cathode lying around. Think I should use it once I install the window? Or just leave everything with a nice blue glow?

100 psi air compressor here: unlimited amounts of constant air instead of $5. per can, low pressure, intermittant air flow.

Where would you pick up a can like that?
I got mine at Staples. :)

Ok, now for the pics:
  • Overview - Yes, it looks like that all the time. No, I don't have any little brothers or sisters (fortunately!).
  • Drives - Philips 12x8x36x CD-RW, Sony 16x DVD-ROM, Iomega Zip100, Western Digital 80GB 7200RPM "SE" and 20GB 7200RPM hard disks.
  • PSU, wires, peripherals - Let's play find-the-CPU, ok? Trust me, it's in there... somewhere. ;)
Some have commented that others have these huge cases but don't put anything in them. On the other hand, it appears that I am clearly the poster child for a case upgrade.

Hey, cool thread!

I'll add my little rig. It's not the neatest in the world, but it's clean and the airflow is great. Quiet too; three Vantec Stealth fans controlled by the Antec Trupower 430 PS. I have the fans on the "Fan Only" connectors...I think it 7-volts them or something. The loudest things in my case are the GF3 (my GF4 died :() and the two WDSE 120GB drives.

Pic of parts

Open case...sweet, sweet airflow.

Is that a 120mm fan on your CPU heatsink? Wow. And what heatsink is that?

well 120 is kinda overkill u know. it probably doesn't cool any better then a 80mm. kinda like how your 10 foot wide car wouldn't get any wetter if you used a 20 foot wide spray of water compared to a 10 foot wide spray.
