i like that stand. i have a generic 2 fan slanted stand but it's much lower (i'll have to snap a pic in awhile, altho it's shamefully messy compared to your setup). i have an apple wireless bluetooth keyboard on my wishlist too, looks nice with the setup.

That looks really nice...

I need to find a new desk for my set up. I have the 30" Cinema display, anyone have any suggestions for a desk?

I think I am going to end up having to get an L shaped desk, so I have a place for my laptop as well. The Mac Pro + the big display = no space for my laptop.

I have a nice glass L desk, which works wonderfully for dual monitors, etc... It was fairly cheap and is nice and sturdy. But I don't like how easy it is to smudge the thing. I am CONSTANTLY getting the Windex out to make it look nice, which really is irritating. So I would go with a wood L Desk. Heh.. :)

my desk is a mess. haha.. cable clutter everywhere. can't seem to get rid of it.. printer, two external HDD's, USB hub, headphones, usb receiver for mouse (have yet to find a decent bluetooth mouse I like, and doesn't cost more than $40, heh), film scanner.

My setup would definitely unimpress all of you. I have a black macbook sitting on my lap in an easy chair. Wireless everything FTW.

Here's mine, I tried to make it as pretty as Aphex's but it just didn't happen :D

http://img212.imageshack.us/img212/8639/setupta9.jpg

-Hackintosh under the table, UPS behind that
-24" Dell LCD on an ergotron arm, Xbox 360 webcam velcro'd on top
-Some cheap Logitech speakers, Senn 570s, & a USB Snowball mic for audio
-VCR, some manilla folders & a label maker for my GTD stuff, cup with pens and stuff
-Keyboard, giant Xtrac mousepad, mouse, blah blah blah

The Hack is a 2.4ghz Quad, 8 gigs of ram, a few 500 gig drives, DVD burner, and modded Quadro 5600 video card. Runs like a dream, has 10.5.2 and all the latest updates, and is near-silent :)

Pics of my desk

The first one is of my MacBook and sundries
Logitech Z3 Speakers
500GB Samsung HL501J drive inside a NoName enclosure
2GB Sandisk jumpdrive
30GB iPod 5th Gen
80GB External notebook drive (Samsung again I think) in another NoName enclosure

Second pic is of both my systems, but there have been some changes made
Instead of the external enclosure under my macbook, but an LG external DVDRW
Instead of that clunky dell keyboard, put a new Apple wired keyboard
Move the iPod dock to the left of the monitor

Otherwise, that is the same, those are logitech V20 USB speakers there hooked to the MacBook... really great little guys that I use for travel and when my laptop just isn't loud enough.

Did you just replace those keys on your Macbook yourself? Or is that a skin?

EDIT: Fixed the quote.. :Q

I'm not sure what you mean about the keys on the Macbook. They're the stock keys. I did just have the top case replaced because the edge was cracking away but they are the original keys...

I can't tell you guys how dorky I felt taking a picture of my setup to post...

you quoted the wrong person, should have quoted thestu

Damn right he should have quoted TheStu!

Anyway kmax, yes, I did replace them myself. My friend at school had a blackbook, and we both would stare enviously at each other's purchases (it seems that you always want the other color) so one day we swapped keys. We never got a chance to finish though, so I have been looking for a cheap black topcase on the Bay... no luck yet.

Crap! Sorry..

Thanks for the heads up.. I really want a black keyboard on my MBP. Not really sure why, but I think it's be nice. So if you find a place that has some parts you can mod like that, I'd love to hear about it.

This is one aspect where my hackintosh falls short, my setup doesnt look nice, just a regular plain old windows box (on the outside anyway) ;) I really do need a mbp

Unfortunately, the MacBook Pro keyboard is slightly different from the MacBook, not just in key design and size, but also in how they attach.

Oh, sure they still use a scissor mechanism, but on the MacBook, the scissor is oriented left-right. The MacBook Pros is oriented up-down. So any keys you put on there (at least the letters) will be sideways.
