The seller must have a legit Reseller Rating.

Note there was an earlier post regarding the AOpen one at Essential Computers/NY who subsequently pulled the offer. Anyone who sees Brown uloading a pallet of these beauties onto the Newegg loading dock, please post here for the other ATers.

They have also added 875P to the criteria filter on their M/B page this afternoon, but it doesn't find the AOpen yet. For those here who missed the 8INXPs that showed up briefly at Newegg about this time of day several months ago, no 8KNXPs or IC7-Gs are offered there yet.

I placed the Essential Computers order yesterday afternoon for a pickup this morning. The web site showed everything in stock. Well when I got there at 11 a.m. they had everything except the motherboard. So I grabbed everything else. THe motherboard is on "backorder but expected in the next day or two". I did get the new P4 3.00/800 cpu, 512 meg twin pack of Corsair XMS 3200 ram, case, and some fans.

I then placed an order today with Myaopen for the same AX4C-Max motherboard. They told me it will ship Fed Ex next day leaving the west coast today, so I should have it tomorrow. It is being drop shipped direct from AOPEN. I'm trying to get a tracking number to confirm shipment but haven't gotten it yet since it is being shipped direct from AOPEN.

I'll keep you guys informed on which board(s) if any I wind up getting. If I get both then my friend is going to want one of them.

The AOpen shows up under Newegg's '875P' filter now, and it's still in stock for $220 ($200AR). A DFI model also shows up for $200 with an ETA of 4/25. Atacom lists two Asuses, P4C800 and P4P800. Nothing yet on the 8KNXP or IC7-G, though.

It sounds like the Garden State Wiz will soon have dibs on first Canterwood bragging rights.

Bummer that the processor voltage can't be adjusted on the Aopen board (downloaded the manual).

Just to let you know there is vcore voltage adjustment from 1.55 up to 1.75 volts in .05 volt steps.

I finally got my AX4C-Max/ 3.0 GHz running at 200 MHz FSB. Found out the Corsair XMS3200 memory needed to be bumped from 2.5 volts up to 2.7 volts. Now nice and stable and FAST.

Some preliminary benchmarks:

Old system
P4 2.4B
Gigabyte GA-8PE667 Ultra
2x 256 meg Crucial PC2700 running at 2.5,2.5,2.5,6
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro with Cat 3.2 drivers.

New System
P4 3.0 GHz / 800 MHz
AOPEN AX4C-Max
2x Corsair XMS PC3200 running at 2,2,2,6 (voltage @ 2.7 volts)
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro with Cat 3.2 drivers

Quake 3 Arena Normal but 1024x768.
P4 2.4B = 217.4 fps
P4 3.0 = 297.0 fps

Sandra 2003

CPU Arrithmatic

P4 2.4 = 6082/1351/3163
P4 3.0 = 9310/2609/5813

CPU Multimedia

P4 2.4 = 9587/12187
P4 3.0 = 13945/21434

Memory Bandwidth

P4 2.4 = 2473/2479
P4 3.0 = 4655/4670

I still have to install DX 9 and test UT and 3DMark2003

Looking good now!!

Interesting. That makes the board a lot more appealing. The manual isn't the greatest, and I think I misinterpreted it. "The CPU core voltage will be automatically detected and the range is from 1.1v to 1.925v. It is not necessary to set CPU core voltage."

There is no mention on the different bios settings in the manual. There is a setting for CPU Voltage Setting which defaults to 1.55 volts with the new 3.0 GHz cpu. Hitting Enter when on that field in the bios brings up a pcik list which ranges from 1.55 to 1.75 volts in .05 volt steps.

In the way of what? I can fit the Swiftec MCX4000 heatsink on here but opted for the stock Intel heatsink which on the P4 3.0 GHz is quite nice (copper inlay and finned heat spreaders).

That's not all, everything glows under UV

I wasn't going to do any case lights/windows, but this has me changing my mind.

I think I'm in line for this board. I hope Newegg doesn't jack up the price on it.
