POST on monitor, but not on TV?

So I got my HD 4350 installed a couple weeks ago and all's well, but when I start the computer with it connected to the TV it does not display the POST, I have to hook it up to a monitor to see the post. It's not a huge deal (mobo has zero OC options) since I keep a monitor in the closet behind the rig, but it would be nice I have to change boot order or something to be able to do it on the TV, and I'd be able to watch the handoff to make sure all is well. The TV is a Samsung HLP5663 if that makes a difference. Once it hands off to the OS it pops right into the log in. This is with it connected via DVI-HDMI, not a dongle, but a full DVI to HDMI cable. I contacted Gigabyte tech support, not so useful. Anyone know why it does this, and if I can fix it?

Thanks

You can work around this buy using your second DVI port and using an adaptor and then hooking your PC up via old school VGA to your TV if you really need to see the POST(you can leave the DVI-HDMI cable hooked up and toggle between inputs after POST so you don't kill your image quality).

There isn't really a 'fix' per se that I am aware of, the POST video output won't work over a digital connection hooked up to a TV on any combination I've ever tried it on or heard of. IIRC it is a signalling issue, you should see the same results if you boot into DOS or safe mode(without VGA drivers, digital connections won't display on the TV).

I've found that with my 8800GTS I need to swap the DVI cables to get the computer to post on one screen or the other. You might be able to tweak your video card's BIOS to fix this problem as well.

When you have this problem, is the TV the only thing hooked up to your graphics card? If the monitor is hooked up as well, it probably means that your graphics card will only output the post information on the one port.

Yes the TV or monitor are only thing hooked up seperately, there's only one DVI connection, a HDMI, and a VGA. I can try to connect the monitor via VGA with the TV still connected through DVI, didn't think about that, I had a VGA to DVI adapter on it so long I forgot it was a VGA connection :p

The POST on my friend's Asus 3450 works just fine over an HDMI connection to his Sceptre 32" 1080P LCD TV.

Yea, it worked when I had my 7800GT hooked up the same way too.
