Funny, I was just thinking the same about you. The money you're itching to spend belongs to other people, and you want to use the police power of the state to steal it from them.

Shame on you.

You are seriously deluded.
Just the fact you continue to somehow have reached the conclusion that taxpayers are paying for the Post Office shows the depths of your insanity.

You're contradicting yourself, here. Is the problem too low rates, or the advance payment requirement?

Yes, the USPS has done a great job for a very long time. But they've been screwed over by politicians getting in the way of good business practices.

That's what politicians do, and we keep electing them.

Those aren't contradictory statements, you fucking idiot.

Get this, the small town I live in if you live inside the town limits you have to get a PO box, but if you live outside the town limits the USPS will deliver it to your mailbox. WTF!!!

Then do explain, please, where the post office gets its budget. Name one person who pays for the post office, but doesn't pay a single penny in taxes.

That doesn't explain why you are required to PAY for a box.

actually you can get one free. granted tis tiny but you can get one free if you are FORCED to get a po box.

Do you expect the government to pay for you?

lol they do though!

IF you are forced to get one you ask and they will give one free.

Not where I lived. IIRC, if you live within 1/2 mile of the PO building, you can't get a box unless you pay.

Still waiting for that name. Have you found one, yet?

A name for you? The forum has rules, but rest assured that I and other people in this thread have probably uttered their name for you.

Go right on claiming that Obama is ending Saturday post office delivery.
It just nails you perfectly.

If you think I said so, then everything else you've said is probably just as inaccurate.

Why can't you just answer the question I asked you, instead of veering off into this nonsense?

Republican official party platform 2012:

“In light of the Postal Service’s seriously underfunded pension system, Congress should explore a greater role for private enterprise in appropriate aspects of the mail processing system,” the platform states.

Its an OUTRIGHT LIE!

Issa Blocks Fix Of Post Office Pension Prepay Time Bomb, Says Robert Weiner, Former Spokesman for U.S. House Govt Reform Comm.; Bipartisan Bill Has 229 Sponsors But Chairman Issa Pushes Privatization
PR Newswire (http://s.tt/1eCpv)

The US Postal Service could avoid closings, firings, and cutbacks if the Chair of the House Government Reform Committee would stop blocking a bipartisan bill sponsored by 229 members that gives the Post Office the same 20-30 year pension pre-pay funding requirements as other federal agencies, instead of a Bush-signed bill that requires a 75 year prepayment leaving the Post Office with massive debt, says Robert Weiner , former spokesman of the Government Reform Committee before he became a spokesman in the Clinton White House.

I never made that claim about military fathers. Why can't you be honest?

The Postal Service’s pension system is a huge point of contention between the service’s supporters and its opponents in Congress. Changes in Congress made the Postal Service pre-fund its pension fund for decades in advance.
