I am so sad.. finished taking down all the garlands and live greens I put up for Xmas.I have all the pine needle mess cleaned up and the bigger decorations wrapped up and stored. I cried like a baby putting it all away.

Christmas this year was so lovely, seeing it end and knowing we've got a long winter still ahead makes me soo sad :(

yeah, but putting them away means they will be coming back out next year. :)

The long winter thing does suck... all the messy snow/slush I could do without.

I wish they would put all the stupid decorations away at work. So annoying.

10 years or so ago, "post holiday letdown" didn't happen until at least a week after New Year's Day. It's not even New Year's EVE, and you're depressed?

The holidays are NOT OVER YET.

What's up with you?

My wife and I flew more than 5,000 miles to be w/my family for XMas; it was great. Now, we're jetlagged to hell, the bank account is a mere pittance of it's former self AND we're entertaining 15 people for New Year's Eve and neither of us really feel like it. Yet we're happy.

Why are you so sad so quickly?

Holiday is not over yet, there is still New Year. And you can start putting some bunnies and easter eggs out.

And Orthodox Festivus is Jan. 13th, I believe. Which reminds me, I've got to go find that pole and rehearse my AIRING OF THE GREIVANCES.

Christmas is not over. There are 12 days of Christmas. Our decorations and such will still be up till the end.

I'm not depressed, many of my holidays have been rather dismal. This year was wonderful..we started with halloween and rolled on thru Xmas, everybody here is healthy,we love our home, there's peace and some contentment here. I was just sad to take down my decorations, the house looked like a holiday card:)

Do you think the servers here have enough space to accomodate your list? :)

OK, the way I see it, you've got two choices:

1. Leave the decorations up year-round and be happy in your eternal Christmas, but labeled the neighborhood nut job

or

2. Take them down and every few days look at pics you took during the season to get your happy ho-ho-holiday fix

Methinks #2 is more manageable, but hey, it's your world. :)

It's a challenge each year, Jean, but it must be done.

Some gaze at the pole, magnificent in the myriad dull reflections from it's brushed aluminum, and remain mute -- placid and unstirred -- slack jawed and nearly inert in their bovine contentment, but not I.

I just had a visual imagining all the ATOT crowd staring at your pole... it was frightening :Q

We just moved into this house a few months ago from a much smaller place.I put up the old little tree because it's fiber optic and because putting up a big tree would mean we have to tie it to a wall, lol, we live with an evil cat:)

I was going to take down the decorations today (which is amazing: I took down the halloween decorations as I put up the Christmas decorations a couple weeks ago.) But, decided to keep them up because it makes the house look a little nicer. Kids have lots of friends coming over tomorrow night for a New Year's party. (I get to play chaperone. Yayyy. ) Decorations are coming down New Year's day.
