Prince Harry didn't even have the (pitiful) excuse of it being Halloween when he did it.
Yeah I was primarily remembering Prince Harry (Nazi) and Justin Trudeau (blackface). It wasn't Halloween, they were just attending costume parties.

Prince Harry didn't even have the (pitiful) excuse of it being Halloween when he did it. Somehow though he didn't get fired from the Royal Family. Probably because it was kind-of a family tradition anyway.

IIRC, the "Windsors" are German in ancestry...

No problemo says mom of the little KKK boy. Couple of choice quotes. This is from 2013. Not sure why they switched her last name from Black to Brown.

Jessica Black, from Craigsville, says her little boy, Jackson who is seven actually asked if he could also dress as a member of the white supremacist group, so she decided to make him the costume.

Ms Black says it's a 'family tradition'.

Ms Brown sees nothing wrong with the costume for one night a year and he son appears to happy also despite the controversy she's stirring up.

She reaffirmed her position by revealing the Klu Klux Klan still exists in Craigsville, Virgnia.

'It's suppose to be white with white. Black with black. Man with woman and all of that. That's what the KKK stands for. The KKK every year, raises money to donate to the St. Jude's,' she protested.

Is opposition to these costumes being "woke". I saw Bill Marr's bit about woke costumes but didn't see either of these. First is a Nazi officer. Second a little kid wore a Klan for Halloween. Feel free to elaborate.

Always found this South Park funny.

However no responsible parent should allow a child to dress as Hitler an SS Officer or a Klansman.

The woman in that story is absolutely charming! I haven't the foggiest idea why she's not running for the Arkansas or Mississippi Senate or something.

I mean, I wouldn't expect to walk around dressed as hitler and not get fired any more than I'd expect to walk around dressed as a blackface minstrel or in KKK garb, or any other innumerable offensive and/or racially stereotypical getups and not get fired.

pretty much.

not business smart at all really

Well, unless your employer was the Nazi Party or the KKK, of course. Or maybe the Wagner group.

....Though I have a sudden image of someone's supervisor in the KKK offices taking them to one-side and explaining that "we don't wear the robes on a day-to-day basis"

"Our culture is not a costume" says KKK Grand Wizard.

LOL, thought maybe The Onion would have already done that story, but Googling it turned up, instead, a real article

A Ku Klux Klan leader told The Atlantic Wire that one racist Virginia mom and her 7-year-old son's Halloween costume has ruined the Klan's reputation. "There's no respect for the Klan," said Bradley Jenkins, the 40-year-old Imperial Wizard of the United Klans of America

A follow up question

Is Adidas dropping Ye an example of cancel culture?
