POST display with DP to VGA active adapter?

Is it possible to have POST show up when using a DP to VGA active adapter with a AMD Vega card and VGA monitor? This is for a 2nd monitor. 1st one is connected through displayport.

As of now I can't get it working but am wondering if I am doing something wrong.

EDIT: Okay, I managed to get it to display over VGA while POSTing by disabling CSM (compatibility system...) in BIOS, HOWEVER, after doing that it just continually boots into BIOS on the 2nd monitor (1st monitor doesn't show anything), and doesn't boot windows.

Anyone have any ideas?

It sounds as though it is looking for the boot drive.
Check and see if anything changed in the boot drive order.
If you disabled CSM then hard drives and network adapters may also be required to be set to legacy in the bios.
