I have a strange delay occuring from power on to seeing the BIOS POST screen of 28sec.
Asus P8Z68-V LX Socket 1155
Corsair TX 650W
Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1600Mhz CL9 1.5V Non-ECC Unbuffered
Intel Core i5 2500 3.3GHz Socket 1155 6MB Cache
Win7
256GB Crucial M4 SSD connected to SATA6 port.
Weirdly though if I additionally connect a legacy IDE HDD (using a SATA to IDE converter) then delay is reduced to 14sec. This happens with 3 seperate IDE HDD's I've tested, 400GB/120GB/20GB - they do not have any OS on them.
BUT if instead I connect in my 3TB SATA Seagate the delay 28sec is still there. (And it does not matter if it is connected to a SATA3 or SATA6 port).
My tests have been with no optical drive connected.
I have flashed the latest BIOS v4105.
I have tried disabling Legacy USB support, and disconnecting ALL USB devices from system.
Everything works perfectly on the computer apart from this.
Does anybody known what's going on here, or know any solution ?
Many thanks in advance.
UPDATE:
Not only is this causing 14 sec delay to get to BIOS POST screen, BUT also it is causing approx 1 min delay at 'Starting Windows' logo screen.
Connecting an IDE HDD (eg an old blank 20GB Maxtor) makes this delay go away also - baffling !?
