Putting together a computer, I wanted to power up the system without any drives, graphics, or a keyboard just to test the processor and memory on the motherboard before I continue.
However, when I turn it on I hear nothing except fans running. I think the problem could be that I have an asus P4B533-E motherboard in "jumper-free" mode, so all of the switches and jumpers on the board are in the default positions, even if I change them physically. This means that instead of beeping, the system tries to give voice messages, but I dont know if my case's speaker can do that. Does this make any sense, or is the problem likely to be something else? (I really don't know what I'm doing, heh)
