Post a pic of what you got for Christmas this year! Being an only child and still living with the parents I guess I'm more than a bit spoiled. You should have seen some of the Christmas hauls I would bring in when I was 9 or 10 years old. It was embarrassing the amount of stuff I'd get from aunts, uncles, grandparents and people I didn't even know. At any rate it's getting hard to find things that I'm really really looking forward to getting now that I'm grown up and I bought myself most of the toys I wanted when I was working up to a few months back. But it seems that this Christmas nevertheless turned out to be quite a nice haul :) :

Everything to the left of the red line are stocking stuffer. The main gifts I got were the HP net-book at the top and the 1TB Iomega external HD, and the books of course. There is also a $60 Futureshop gift card not shown.

So ATOT post pics of what you got!!

Same boat as you OP – only child staying with the parents for Christmas. Everyone always acts surprised when I tell them that I'm glad to be an only child... and this is exactly why. :)

I asked my parents why they always get me so much stuff. My mom explained it to me this way: "You get spoiled because you're our only kid. If you had 2 brothers or sisters for example, you'd be getting a third of the presents you do now."

Because you don't celebrate Christmas or because of other circumstances like income or family?

Because I don't care about receiving gifts. I'm the guy that has to be forced to open whatever presents I do get.

I'll have Christmas with my extended fam on Wed...I'm sure I'll get something. I asked for a pet midget again this year...we'll see if I get it.

I want a Subway GC, I got money but I don't want Subway with it, I'm so confused right now! I get like a footlong cold cut and throw some jalapenos and stuff on there, it's good.

LOL @ linguine stocking stuffer

"shit there's still room in his stocking"
<looks in pantry, finds unopen bag of pasta>
"this bag of linguine fits perfectly!"

I got $200. I told everyone this year I was not buying any gifts given I just bought a house and have some debt to pay, so I did not expect anything, so I'm happy with that. Really this year only the younger kids mostly got presents.

I'm hoping to make up for it next year, though it's hard to know what to buy for everyone sometimes.

I promised myself I would buy myself something instead of putting all my extra/gift cash on my loan, so I'll probably go buy some power tools or something. I'm thinking maybe a skill saw. I want to get into wood working.

That stuff on the left would be pretty random to get in a stocking.

We've always given random stuff as stocking suffers in my family. We always give chocolates and other cheap snacks. Dollar store items are also popular. The plastic item in the lower left corner is a crazy clunky booklight. We used to stuff our stockings with fruit as well (mandarin oranges).

Nice bag of spaghetti. I gave my cousin beef jerky this year. Who doesn't like beef jerky? Can't go wrong.
