I posted it before. It is my only bike at the moment because a friend is borrowing my other bike. PLus lately, I haven't had time to ride. :(

I gotta ask. how is that saddle? I saw some reviews, and most of them were good. But I just can't imagine that being comfortable.

Pretty good on a short ride (40 miles tops). On a long ride (> 40), you can't go wrong with a leather saddle, but this thing will give you "3rd leg" if you know what I mean. ;)

Here's my bike.

It's probably 15 years old, weighs a ton, has no maintenance done on it unless something breaks. I just use it around the streets or on the bike trails near our house.

My custom LeMond Zurich.

It's Reynolds 853 steel with Campagnolo Chorus 9spd and Record/Open Pro wheels. The saddle is a Fizik Arione with a Record TI seatpost. Pedals are LOOK Carbon KEO. The bike weighs about 19lbs with pedals and cages. I built it up myself after having it professionally repainted.

Kind of a mix of old and new actually. Modern drivetrain but still all alloy, none of the carbon fiber stuff but it is a 2001 frame IIRC with CF fork (I had it painted to match the frame). Also, the saddle and pedals are modern. It still has that old school look to it though. I love it.

Amused-I picked up an older Honda CB750 a few weeks ago. I've been working on cleaning it up and fixing up some minor blemishes and aged parts but she was cheap and rides very nice. I like the bike very much...still, I'd like to pick up a new Harley someday. ;)

I keep hearing good things about steel frames. If I can get away with buying a new frame, it'll be tough to decide between a steel and a full carbon.

I picked up my frame used on ebay with the original fork. It was a mess cosmetically but sound structurally so I sent it to a place literally right down the street from where I work called Cyclart. Man, they do nice work. Highly recommended if you need to have a bicycle repainted. I have about $1k in the frame alone but I had the components and bought the wheels for $300 from Performance Bike. In all, it's probably worth about $2500.

I have a full carbon bike and ride it quite a bit but I'm not any faster on it than I am on my steel LeMond. My CF bike is a LOOK with Campy 10spd and Ksyrium SL wheels. It weighs a bit under 17lbs.
