Personally, if I needed to make a Network Diagram for my home, it would look like this:

probably visio

-3 points for not labeling the interfaces on the router and switch ;)

im not motivated enough to make a diagram.
Yeah, it's visio and I'm not using enough ports to go to that much trouble, really! Maybe when I'm running F5's and stuff like that I'll deploy SolarWinds to monitor it. :p

EDIT: actually the PS3 is in a DMZ, so I've messed that up, and the WHS rig is open on 443 for HTTPS, but meh.

How do those Powerline Plugs work? Right now I'm using 802.11 for my PS3 and was muddling over trying out Powerline to hook it up.

Oh, OK, yeah I have just the 85Mbps ones for now and they seem to do just fine. I don't stream HD to my PS3 so this is untested, I would suggest it's not great, but SD is perfect. I'll upgrade to the 200Mbps units when I feel the need.

Otherwise they are as good as wired.

Too lazy to make a chart but this is basically it:

DSL----router1---router2-------switches-------PCs and servers

Router1's network is 10.10.0.1/24 and router2 is 10.1.1.1/24. My VPN range is 10.0.10.1/24

I used to have a few things behind router1 but now I just use it as "external" internet access. If someone comes over and needs wireless I enable it and my network is still isolated behind router2. Same when I'm fixing someone's PC I just plug it into the external jack which is patched through to that router.

Here's my hardware. You'll have to do the diagram in your head.

Internet
Modem
Router
Router being used as a switch
Switch
WHS box
Computer 1
Computer 2
Whatever computer I'm working on that belongs to whomever.
Laptop
Printer
Dishnetwork receiver
Panasonic Blu-ray player

I'd like to do a cool diagram, but I'm not very creative.

Here is most of mine (don't have all the laptops in there, just the 2 most used ones and I don't have my home theater audio/video processor which is networked or the PS2):
