Had my third interview last week, got an email saying they want to hire me but first need references. Sent them the references via an email, no word back yet (sent it to them thursday night) It's been basically 2 days.

Should I call at the end of the day today and make sure they received my email or just leave it?

Thanks
Rob

1 informal interview over beers
1 formal interview with portfolio and would-be manager
1 really formal upper management interview last week

Now I'm wondering if I should call the manager who interviewed me just to make sure he got my references, or not bug him.. hmmm :S

Two days is a short amount of time to expect the company to conduct it's reference check completely. A quick email to confirm that they received the references is ok, but give them a little more time.

Big companies move slowly. Quit worrying. You got the job.

3 interviews is about the minimum you'll get for a real job...I know people who have had 7.

Ok thanks guys, this is my first REAL job and it's been one hell of a process. I've received great feedback from them each time, they're very impressed etc and think I would make a great addition yadda yadda, but now this reference thing has taken a few days and I was worrying.

I'll send him an email tomorrow morning if I don't hear back, I contacted one of my references last night and he said there hasn't been a call yet, but I imagine like you say, they are very busy, it's 2000 employees + there

Thanks

I'd call to make sure that they received the e-mail. It could have been blocked by a spam filter or something.
