Possibly Stupid Monitor Question

Is there a difference between the Sony G500 and the Sony CDP-G500?

I've read reviews, and I believe they are the same, but if someone knows for sure, could you let me know?

...and if anyone has this (these) monitor(s), how does it (do they) perform?

Check Sony's website. This is not a stupid question.

I'm pretty sure they're the same, a lot of companies like Sony and Samsung tend to abbreviate the full product name half of the time and leave out a three or four letter prefix that has little to no meaning to the consumer.

probably CDP means something. It might be an acronym

Well, I checked Sony's website, and neither monitor is there.

I then searched for "Sony G500 drivers" on Google, and it turns out that Sony has a secondary site for that.

The CPD-G500 IS the same as the G500, as evidenced here.

Thanks for making me search more thoroughly...

...now...if anyone owns this monitor, is it possible to get an opinion of it?
