Possibly need a new 11.6" laptop

No Lifer
I had/have two, one Acer Aspire One 722 with C-60 (cute but slow), and an Acer V5-131 with 1007U (6.5hrs battery life with the included six-cell, boosted to nearly 8hrs once I swapped in an X25-M G2 SSD). Both had Win7, 4GB RAM. The 722 is dead, and the other one is barely holding on.

I really like the V5-131. I could get another one for ~$320 with Win7. But only two years in, the bezel is cracked, and the charger or socket is going. Most of the USB ports are flaky too.

I keep it on my bed, and toss it around a lot. But I haven't dropped it on any hard surfaces.

Is there anything in this price range (under $400 or so) in the 11.6" size, that is actually durable, and has a decent keyboard (the V5-131 is decent) and trackpad?

No touchscreens please. Win 7 preferred, but Win 8.1 or even Linux is OK if they can be reformatted.

Oh yes, must be upgradable with an SSD. Both Acers have easy access to HDD, wifi, and RAM, just undo one screw on the back.

Edit: Oh, and definitely no Chromebooks.

Edit: The V5-131 is only one year and four month old, and it's already falling apart.

If you're willing to consider 12.5" I can personally recommend the Lenovo X220. Tough as nails and I've been using it as the office loner for several years. Looks and works like brand new after dozens of trips. Swapped in a SSD and run Windows 7 pro 64 bit. Very nice machines and can be had refurbished in the $300 range.
