Possibly my last attempt at a math proof.

I may have recovered.

I had a mild stroke three weeks ago. My math (and crunching) is not affected. However, my language ability is quite choppy and usually makes no sense. Other than that, I'm good.

Here is a link to my last math question.https://mathoverflow.net/q/280192/16888. I could get a final badge for 25 views by different IP addresses.

Anyway, I'm still on my schedule for Stop@home. Keep on crunching!

25 free proxies and clicks and you are done...or restart your router assuming it has a dynamic IP assignment on startup.
They should also give you points for understanding how the internet works. 🙂

Aw Fred, I'm so sorry for you.

I had a stroke back in 2005, upon returning to my home town and seeing all of Hurricane Katrina's destruction. I lost control of my entire right side. As time went by I slowly started recovering more and more use. I hope things start getting better for you.. Hang in there, partner. You are in my thoughts and prayers..

I clicked on it. Now you know why I spend $300-500 a month in electricity, and $8000 a year in computer upgrades and try to do all medical research, to STOP this and cance.

Clicked from two IPs and a proxy. Hang in there, man. Keep on crunching, and let us know if there's anything else the community can do for you.

Strokes are fairly preventable if a person takes the proper steps before one occurs.
I have been doing those things for years, since I retired at age 50. My Grandfather had a stroke so I am careful to watch for contributing causes.

Best wishes for a strong come back. As resident of a senior living facility, I see amazing things do happen.

Sorry to read the OP. Gett well soon and train your language as well as you can! The brain is very plastic and can learn to do things anew.
I've been opening a bunch of math papers to reference while I do my work and have been gradually regaining my mathematical synonyms for speaking and writing. I understand them when I read them.

I had my first stroke over 3 years ago. It had been predicted because I had been getting a lot of TIAs with my vision. Now, no more TIAs. No more headaches of any kind including migraines. The only downside was my inner narrative would sometimes fail to complete a sentence. I've learned to ignore it.

This one happened exactly 2 years and 1 month after I had quit a 58-year, 2-packs-a-day, cigarette habit. But, I'm lucky because there are no major issues.

Hi Rudy, wishing the best for your health.

I clicked. Gave me a headache 🙂. I noticed you have over 1,300 clicks so far. I'm guessing you get your badge.
