There's supposedly a new USB plug n play modchip for the ps2. Details are at www.buymodchip.cjb.net. Seems like it could be a scam. No contact information and the description and pictures are the same from www.easybuy2000.com except that the 1 wire solder and gameshark required part taken out. I cannot find anything else about this modchip. Also, if you hit submit on the order form and you don't fill anything out it still says please wait 5-7 days for product? Anyone have any thoughts about it?

Kinda misleading advertising, with the Sbox, Neokey, USBMod whatever you wanna call it, there is some soldering involved. One wired it soldered to two points on the motherboard. This will direct boot (noswap) psx games, but you need a Gameshark to boot PS2 games. Its too much of a hassle.

The USB neo key still requires you to solder one wire to the board. The only "truely" solderless is the mod chip board for the V5 PS2 only. I installed it a month ago on my V5 PS2 and it works great . . . still have to use the gameshark swap tho.

If you want a No swap that plays PS2 Backup CDR's & DVDR's without a Gameshark you'll need to Mod you PS2 with a Messiah chip if you could find one. Currently Messiah only works with certain version 4 of US PS2. They are right the NeoKey, Sbox or USB Mod still require 1 wire 2 points to be solder, if you are not fimiliar with a soldering iron my suggesttion is to have it professional installed you'll save yourself alot of headaches. If you have a version 5 or version 6 you could also get a VRMOD (solderless mod) that does not require any soldering, but I don't think it could boot DVDR's and EA games without applying an EA Patch. I am not 100% sure someone correct me if I am wrong.
