Possibly dumb HDTV questions.

Um, I've recently popped a HDTV card in my computer. the television images are certainly a bit crisper (less interference, ghosting) but at 576i or 576p I don't get what everyone is raving about. how "high" does the definition have to get before I am going to be "blown away" by it..?

576i wouldn't be much better than NTSC.

Are you watching true HD content or is it upconverted material?

The other thing you have to account for is display size.

Yes my 21" monitor (and my 19" for that matter) is capable of displaying 2048x1536 - I can display full 1080P. But on such a small display it's really not that impressive.

On a big set you really start to realize how much data is in that stream.
