Hello,

My brother purchased the top of the line Corsair RAM sticks. 2 512mb sticks. Here is the the problem. When we have the 2 Corsair RAM sticks installed, games will not play at all. The Sims 2 wont even start up, and Doom 3 quits on you while playing. So we removed the Corsair RAM sticks, and installed the old memory we had in before. The games played fine. They didnt quit. So we put in one of the Corsair RAM sticks, and Sims 2 wouldnt even start up. Then we tried the other stick, and Sims played for about 10 minutes till it quit.

Perhaps bad RAM? Are there any free hardware test programs available?

Thanks.

Memtest86 to test for bad memory. Make sure your DIMMs are in the right banks, if your board cares. Try using them one at a time, even.
