Possibly a very dumb question!

Hi all,

I heard a while back that putting in a Geforce 5200 or 5600 into my system would improve game performance. The thing is I have a Duron 1300 with half a gig of Ram. Is this true? And would the performace increase be noticable?

The reason I ask is that I am absolutely dying to get my hands on Doom3, but realise with the current card, a Geforce 3 Ti 200, that would be little point.

'dragonic' benchmarked a Duron1.2/9600 system and got ~20fps @ 640x480 with minimum settings.

So it seems that with that cpu, a 5600 level card is not going to help much. And a 5200 would be about the same as your current card.

Depending on the specific FX5200 card, could be worse than a gf3 ti
