Possible upgrade to an x1950 AGP

My current system is:
XP 2800 Barton with a K-7400 Mobo
1gb assorted ram probably 400mhz (2x 512mb)
6600gt 128mb
19" lcd monitor
unknown psu...can't check since my desktop is at college but it is probably 350W, I can check tomorrow.

Would it be worth upgrading to an x1950 from best buy while they are about $250?

I don't have any PCI-Express slots in my system so I'm looking at this upgrade hoping it would make a big difference. I don't have the money for a new CPU/Mobo/Ram and graphics card and all that while I'm still in college for 2-4 more years.

I would say go for it. The 1950 would offer more than a 2x boost over your current card.

That PSU might be cutting it a bit close. Not to mention the mad bottleneck by the CPU. You'll see a difference alright, but not that much. Might be worth saving a bit more and go all out of a $1k system.
