Possible to use USB flash drive as a PS2 memory card?

I see that the PS2 has a couple of USB slots in the front. I want to save the progress of one of my games, but I don't have a PS2 memory card. Is it possible to use a USB flash drive to do this?

No, it won't show up as a memory card. The USB slots are for USB input devices like head set, mouse, keyboard, etc.

in gt4, you can save pictures of cars to usb drive, thats about it.... heres an example
