Possible to use this power supply?

I have a Sparkle FSP-300GT, 300 watt power supply with ATX rev. 2.01 with .85A on the 5Vsb rail but current Athlon motherboards require 1.5A on the 5Vsb rail. Is there any way that this 300 watt supply can work with an Athlon motherboard? Is any one currently using this power supply successfully with an Athlon motherboard?
