i have a samsung s7 edge and the VR thingy and watching a movie on there is great but is there a way to use it like a 2nd monitor? I don't want movement like in VR but just see in the VR kit what i'd see on a monitor. would be great for movies and gaming. but would have to be low latency

i read something a while back about stream theater but has anyone done this?

Considering the thing is strapped to your face, how would it work as a secondary monitor? It would be your only monitor.

How fast is your home network? Game streaming is absolutely possible but it requires disgusting amounts of bandwidth.

60hz VR also sucks.

1440p 60hz streaming is possible on Android with several different types of software. I have played many games on my Android phone and tablet streamed from my PC, but I always found the quality subpar.

I used to use an old version of Splashtop with gamepad support. This let you use a wired/bluetooth Xbox controller connected to your android device. I played a lot of Skyrim @ 720p 30fps... Remotr Game Streaming seems to be pretty decent now as a replacement.

This was a few years ago and the experience was sub par but pretty cool overall.

But If you already have the Galaxy VR HMD (I found the 60hz revolting) you should try it.

There are many types of streaming desktop apps you just need a very fast router. Try Remotr Game Streaming first.

it's not for VR it's just to have a fixed high res screen right in front of my face. like having an imax screen as a monitor. when you move your head the screen stays locked.
