Possible to use a USB cable to carry 12V @ 1.5A?

I have a motorized camera slider that runs on 12V and 1.5A (at least that's what the power adapter it came with says).

I want to run it off of a normal USB charger that outputs 12V @ 1.5A:

and use one of these cords (the USB end plugs into the wall charger and the round end plugs into the slider):

Based on the specs, the charger should be able to power the slider. But could the USB cable send the required power? USB is built for 5V, after all. I don't know enough about electronics to know if sending 12V anyway is possible over USB.

The reason I'm doing this is that I want to convert as many powered accessories to USB as possible since USB is standard. There are also USB power banks that can also output 12V in addition to 5V for charging cell phones, tablets, etc.

from what i can figure out this 12V1.5A is only available through qualcomm's quickcharge usb communication. default is 5V3A, the device has to request additional power at a higher voltage.

5V/12V/whatever the cable doesn't care, use the thickest gauge wire you can get at higher (>1A) current levels.

This is correct, you won't get 12V out of that charger unless it's connecting to a Qualcomm SOC.

BTW, I also see power banks that also output 12V via their USB. Those would also require the device to have a Qualcomm SOC and specifically request it, huh?

My guess is yes, but I haven't played with any external batteries that claim support for Qualcomm's QuickCharge. I was looking at one today that listed 12V support but there was no mention of QuickCharge in either the product info or reviews. Very confusing, but my guess would be yes - No 12V without the device asking for it.

This one explicitly lists it though:

Can't see why not, POE can push a couple amps I think and uses even thinner gauge wire.

I would avoid making anything with a USB plug that supplies 12 volts though, might accidentally plug something that requires 5, and it will go poof.

I would use a cigarette lighter plug instead if you want something that is 12 volts. Bonus is that your device will work in a car or other place that already has such a plug.
