possible to upgrade firmware on 7800GT?

my video card does crazy stuff sometimes, and i was wondering if it is possible to update or reinstall the firmware. it is a 3d fuzion 7800GT, ordered on approximately 10/17/05.

there is an example. if you will notice, the desktop space is only 75% of the monitor. the bottom 25% is blackness but it is illuminated. if i restart, the desktop spaec will expand down to probably 85%, and another restart will give me 100%. it does this rarely but now that im about to format, i was hoping to fix this as well.

is this a problem anyone has ever seen before? this never happened with my ati video card, so i assume it is the 7800GT which is causing this buy maybe not...?

good question, i didnt check that. im pretty sure it doesnt show 1920x1200 but i cant say for sure.

i should add it does NOT do this on the way to windows, only once it is IN windows. i upgraded the bios on the motherboard just now to see if it made any difference.
