Possible to "unformat" a hard disk?

Ok, is there any way to recover data from a hard drive partition that has been formatted and has not been touched in any other way whatsoever since? It was and is formatted as FAT32. It is a partition that does not have my OS on it, so I am still able to use the computer and hopefully apply some sort of recovery program from the other partition. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, as you can imagine.

The Norton Utilities have an unformat command that can be run from DOS. Get the program, run it on another machine (obviously), and create a rescue disk.

This may not work and there may be other freebie solutions, but you probably want to have something like Norton around anyway.

Hey thanks! I'll look into that. I would prefer a freeware solution, but hey, what can you do. I did make some changes to the above post, I realised that I didn't give all the information.

It doesn't look like the "undelete" utility on Norton Utilites is going to work for me - It seems to only recover a small amount of text files. Does anyone else have any ideas??!??! Thanks in advance.

Did you use "undelete" or "unformat"? They are separate utilities, I believe.
