Yes, underclock. I don't use the computer for games anymore, and I'd like to be able to run my computer with the video card fan unplugged (its semi-busted, so its pretty loud). Its a Gainward GF2 Ti/500 if that makes any difference.

I ran with it unplugged for ~4 months before the computer started freezing on me, so I plugged it back in. Its driving me nuts again though :|

OR you could go to newegg or svc and find a nice replacement part for ~$10. I got a thermaltake crystal orb when my GF2s HSF started making anoying sounds.

yes you can underclock it, just like a cpu, i've seen a few silent pc websites do it, changing the voltage will show you the most difference, you might want to take off the heatsink and just put an old socket a (cut down to size a little) on there. and make sure you have decent cooling

Thanks for the help everyone, I enabled coolbits, and bumped the speeds down from 261 core/472 memory to 200 core/400 memory. I'm thinking that should be enough, as my system runs fairly cool.

the speed of the memory doesnt make a difference really, you could leave it @ stock
