I have had my car, '96 acura integra gsr for about 6 years now. Bought is used w/ a salvaged title. Been working fine all this time, only replaced the radiator. Thinking about getting a brand new car now, do dealers give you anything for cars w/ salvaged titles??

Why not sell it privately?

Some dealers will take it and some won't. I wouldn't tell them it's a salvage and bank on them not checking until after you've signed the papers.

I have a dealer contract right in front of me. One of the trade-in notes is:

The Purchaser warrants that any used vehicle delivered to the Dealer is properly titled to the Purchaser, has never been a salvage title."

Actually it depends on the dealer. Some dealers will take it.

Talk to the dealer and see if they will. Most will take a salvage title, but they'll probably stroke you on the trade-in value as they're just gonna dump the car at auction.
Important note: you HAVE to disclose that it has a salvage title whether you trade it in or sell it privately. This isn't an "AS IS" keep your mouth shut kind of situation. Failure to disclose the salvage title to a buyer would be an illegal error of omission, and possibly criminal fraud. Just FYI.

In MD and OH the bluebook on salvaged are 1/2 of the normal value.
I had a salvaged focus and i wrecked it, I only got 4k out of it. Talk about pissed, f@ck salvaged cars unless they are beater cars.

hmm maybe now I'll take it in to see what it's worth...

You can get a ballpark by checking the bluebook online.
