Is it possible to do that? I have a digicam, and I can just take the photo and have it developed for $.30/each print. It's just a thought, I haven't tried it yet, but seems possible. Anyone ever done that? Passport photos costs are insane. I remember paying $12 for 4 pics.

But also remembet that it's 12 bucks (well, i've seen if for $6) once in a blue moon, not every week or something.. Why not go to a place where you know that there will not be any problems? will save you a lot of time in the long run...

I took mine with a digital, cropped them to the exact sizes, and printed them on my friend's photo printer. When they burn them onto your passport you lose quality anyways. Total cost to me = $0

All you need to do is follow the specs, go to the state department's web site they tell you everything you need to know for home printed pics. From what I remember it must be a white background, 2"x2" print on photo paper, eye level should be a little higher than the midpoint, and your entire head should be no more than 1.4" from top to bottom. For this reason it's best to print them yourself rather than send them to a photo processor as the size issue may be hard to determine.
