possible to split internal USB header?

Let's say that you have a motherboard with one available internal USB header, but you need two, is there a way to split them? What would be necessary? Would there be enough power left to power two devices, such as a card reader and a set of front USB ports (I assume their power would be lessened, but that's ok)?

It is not possible to "split" a USB port - one must use a hub...

. Most unternal USB headers have two rows of pins for two USB ports. If it is really ONLY one row of pins for ONE USB port, then there are mini hubs that mount in a 3.5" drive bay and connect to an internal header.
