There is a cable modem running downstairs in my office and off of that modem is the router. My new build which was at school with me is now home and its for gaming so I don't to do wireless. Right now I have a 50ft lan cable running through my house but thats a pain so is what I put in the topic possible.

Well, from a communications standpoint, yes. You can split the RF signal on the coax as many times as you want, and even provide amplification to keep it strong. You could have 100 cable modems, except that the cable company isn't that stupid. It's unlikely they will assign an IP address to more than one, although you can try it.

More importantly, why would you? Drill some holes. Tuck the CAT-5 under the carpet, whatever. Lots of people use wireless for gaming now and give good reports.

Get a 5.8 ghz. phone, or a new router, because the new ones don't have conflicts with other devices on the same freq.

You could always move the router and modem upstairs to where your machine is at and use wireless for the other machines. Thats how mine is set up right now
