Possible to setup a hotkey for this?

I have my speakers and headphones plugged into a Y splitter so that they can both be plugged into my soundcard at the same time, when I want to use the speakers I hvae to make sure my audio settings are set to digital output only, and for the headphones I uncheck this option (double click the speaker icon in the system tray, go into advance settings). I switch between the speakers and headphones often, so I was just wondering if there is a way to make some kind of hotkey to make this chore a little easier.
Thanks!

Is this settings stored in the registry? (Get processex [process explorer] from sysinternals to find out)

how does digital only only send audio to the speakers and not the headphones? Isn't the speaker out analog... either cut or not.

most audio cards have two separate outputs, one is labeled speakers and the other is line out.

just use both, get rid of the 'Y', be a happy camper. leave speakers plugged to speakers and use line out for the headphones. just make sure you have it activated in volume controls.
