possible to safely flash my Sony desktop with an Asus bios?

The motherboard in the sony is actually an Asus P4B-LX but I was just wondering if Sony make some kinda contract with Asus so that it would somehow "lock" the capbailities of the motherboard. I'm looking to o/c my pos Williamette so that it runs a bit faster...
