My BIOS only has the option of CAS 2,2.5. I have heard that manually setting it to 2.5 will theoretically OC the Generic High Density RAM and therefore make it compatible with my mobo... is this true?
If you can be of any assistance it is appreciated.
Thanks.
By the way, my mobo is an FIC AM35 model. I also have 128 MB of CAS 2.5 RAM installed right now and I plan on adding 256 megs of Generic High Density CAS 3 RAM.

You may be able to get a better value on some non-generic CAS2.5 memory, such as Kingston ValueRam. It will cost a little bit more, but will be rated for the actual speed so you're not overclocking it, and in general be more reliable and have a better warranty.

In all likelihood, the CAS3 will run at CAS2.5, it's a very slight difference in timings. But if it doesn't, you may have spent money for nothing.

Thanks. I have found some DCC 256MB DDR SDRAM online w/shipping for $27.
Specs of the RAM:
DCC OR MAJOR NAMES, 256MB 266Mhz PC2100, 184pin DIMM, Non-ECC 32x64, 2.5V, SSTL-2 I/O Interface, CAS Latency 2.5, SPD Support. Higher performance over mainstream PC100 or PC133 memory. Up to 2.1 GB/sec of peak bandwidth using PC2100 DIMMs (with DDR266 memory chips). JEDEC Standard. DIMM Lead pitch: 1.27 mm. Support for Memory Chip Stacking.

Hopefully this will work.
Thanks for the help.
