I have time off tomorrow and my SO wants to do this. But I don't want to buy a sled just for this one time. So, is it possible to rent one?

Old cardboard box. Lay flat, place on snow. Sit on box. Slide down hill. When done sliding down hill sufficient number of times, recycle cardboard, or gift it to someone else who is looking to rent a sled.

Kids today got no imagination!!

There are no hills in central park. I can only think of that big mound, but that's on their main asphalt road.

There are plenty of hills in central park. You don't know the park well obviously.

as far as I know the only objects of any significant height are buildings so why not go sledding on the empire state building?
