Possible to reattach original HSF on Sapphire X800XL?

I plan to buy a Sapphire X800XL agp and a Artic Cooling Ati Silencer 5. In order to keep the warrenty I wonder if it is possible to remove the original heatsink/fan of the x800xl and put it back on later, if one would have to use the warrenty?

The reason I ask is that I have a Radeon 9700 with Arctic Cooling VGA silencer that just died on me and I had to break the original HSF in order to remove it. I don't wanna make the same mistake again!!!

any mods to the card automatically voids the warranty, regardless if you try to return it to its "original" state.

Sure they do. But if one could make the card look "unmodified" it should still be possible to use the warranty.

yes indeed, you will probably get abit of beef of some people for doing that, but you can replace the original heastsink no problems long as you dont break it taking it off, and you are careful
