Possible to overdo it on fans and "take" airflow away from HSF?

Ok, i've got three case fans in this case with the antec 350w psu. Two, are in the bottom section of the available three slots in the front of the case for intake. I have one fan in the lower rear section for exhaust. My powersupply as most of you know has a fan on the bottom for intake and an exhaust fan blowing out. My heatsink fan is a vantec aeroflow. Now, with my pc running at 11.5x202mhz @1.625vcore my cpu runs around 44 celcius idle and around 54 celcius at full load. My case, on average, runs about 3-4 celcius more than my cpu. I'm positive that I will put a fan in the last slot in the front of the case which sits directly in front of the hard drive bay, but i'm not sure if it's a good idea to put a second case fan in the rear for exhaust. I'm afraid I might end up "taking" air away from my HSF and end up raising my temps instead of lowering them. Anyone ever had this happen to them?

Well I and the fellow that runs coolcases.com like positive pressure cases to help keep the dust out. And you need slightly more total intake than exhaust CFM to achieve it.

But if you think the rate of flow thru your case might be starving the CPU fan, you can always duct it to the outside. svc.com has kits for around $15..

That's what I was thinking. On my older computer the case is a good 10 degrees cooler, and I only have 1 case fan in it blowing on the cpu/HSF. Why are my case temps so much higher than my cpu temps on there? I don't have a bunch of cables strung across everything. There's pretty decent airflow going through the case. Hopefully a fan in front of my hard drive will cool everything down a few degrees.

might depends on how well seated your heatsink is. or if ur paste is dry...etc

that kinda case has good ventilation, just fill all the fan slots and use a fan speed controller. my 1.85v 1800@2.4ghz only runs like 46~c full load, but i use a slk800. all my fans are low speed. you want a lot of air going through that case. if you feel hardcore u can cut out the metal fan grills behind the plastic bezel, those just hold dust and are in the way of air flow..l
