its not the chip that will hold you back, most can do 2.4 using a multiplyer adjustment, but its the fact that you have to use registered ram, = no that ocable,, if the multiplyer is locked, its gonna be hard to get it that high

As Mr. TPer said, the RAM will hold you back if you're overclocking it.
On top of that, it's much like OCing PIIIs and P4s...multiplier locked. If you can unlock it or get the HT link fast enough, you could make it to 2GHz+. But that isn't likely for now. Expect unlockable CPUs like the TBreds once the A64 gets down to $200 or less. Or hope for it, anyway.
