Ok, so I acquired one of these Virgin Webplayers from a local friend of mine. It does not have a floppy header but it does have a 44pin Laptop IDE header. I also purchased this Xircom Mini PCI Network card (Intel chipset based) for it since it has a mini PCI slot. Since I cannot put a floppy or a cd drive on it, is it possible to install via network? Another option would be to get a 44pin laptop HD to regular 3.5" and transfer the Windows 98 setup files into it along with boot files but it costs money. Any ideas?

Ouch. yeah you can do it via PXE booting but you're gonna have to setup a lot of crap on the back end.

If you can get either a floppy or a CDrom it would make life much easier.

This would be what i would do... get a small Laptop HD about $75 for 12Gb and Laptop to IDE will cost about $9
then just copy the files that you need...
