Possible to install Steam version of Company of Heroes from a disk?

I just bought the CoH catalogue on Steam in the weekend special. To install all of this is over 10gb, which is fairly expensive over here due to bandwidth constraints. My brother owns physical copies of all of these games. Is it possible to install from the disk and register them with Steam somehow?

not sure, but if i remember correctly with HL2, you could leave the disc in and install it from steam and it would pull certain files from the disc. maybe you could give it a try.

With Grid, I started the download and put all the game files in the steamapps/common folder. Saved me about 7gb of downloading. dunno if that will work for COH though

I would try doing what Skurge said.
But actually you might be able to just install the disk based version, and then put in your Steam keys when it asks for them.

CoH doesn't actually require being run through Steam. You can just click the .exe from inside the install folder and as long as Relic Online is working and you have a legit CD key in, the game will work.
Steam is just used as a fallback authenication method (like a disc check) if Relic Online is down/you aren't connected to the internet.

Or you can install and then copy the files to the Steam directory and then verify cache and let it all update as needed.
