Possible to hack hotel internet?

Well I'm stuck in a hotel with in room ethernet internet and nothing good to do. So, I figured I needed a little challenge. I have been trying to get through to the internet from their network, but have been unsucessful. They seem to be forwarding everything to a signup page. I can still ping other websites though. I tried using a different DNS and a proxy server, neither worked. Any ideas? Yes, I know I could just pay the $10 for it, but that's not the point....as you can see I already have internet through my phone. This is just a little challenge for myself...and a fun one. 😉

How about going down to the bar or outside and talk to some real people?

Yeah... and isn't using the hotel's internet which you haven't paid for illegal?
