Possible to get Windows 98 to automatically dial a connection when booted?

Hey guys, the title says it all really - I was wondering if it was possible to force Windows 98 to dial up a dial up networking connection and connect me to the internet, automatically upon booting up. Can this be done (if so how?). I tried a search, but didn't have any luck so over to you

Drag the dial up connection from the Dial Up Networking folder into Start Up in the Start Menu....it should automatically create a shortcut for you.

Thanks Andy - I did that and managed to get the dial up window to open when Win98 booted, but not actually connect (without me hitting the 'connect' button...) I had a quick look at the properties to see if there was an 'auto connect' box, but I couldn't see anything. Any ideas anyone? Thanks

It's not an auto-connect....this is how it works:

Go to Properties for that dial up connection, then go to the options tab.

Get rid of the tick for "Prompt for name and password and certificate, etc", and "Prompt for phone number".

eek, I go the properties, but there doesn't appear to be an options tab only 'general', 'server types', 'scripting' and 'multilink' - and none of those have the options you're describing. I'm obviously doing something wrong ....

Oops...sorry Snow....was looking in Win2K.

Under Win98, here it is...

Open up the Dial Up Connections folder.....got to Connections on the menu, and select Settings.

The General tab should have a tick next to "Prompt for Information before dialing". Get rid of the tick there.
