Now that I've begun working from home 3 days a week, the stuff I used to keep in my desk at night I now will need to bring back and forth to work the days I go in.

Its not all that much, medium sized headphones (Denon D1001), access cards and a few other misc things, along with a sandwich and snack. Its roughly a 10 minute walk from my desk to the parking lot, though multiple access points, so I would prefer to not have to carry everything by hand each day I go in.

So i start looking around at some smaller bags, and my wife can't stop laughing that I seem to be gravitating towards a Murse 🙂

A few that I came across (and the wife subsequently laughed at) are listed below. Are these too man purse-esque? Any recs? I mean, i guess could just pick up an old Jansport Backpack and be done with it, but I feel a bit old for a jansport i guess.

This is what I'm bringing to Europe as my "personal item," along with a backpack as my carry-on:

Ha! Wife laughing is a good indicator. IMHO

What is wrong with a backpack looking "bag". Running thru airports my bags are mostly carried that way anyway.

Get backpack that has a logo on it that people would want to steal. Not!

Jansport seems benign to me.

I use a Jack Spade bag for traveling - doesn't look like the make one quite like it currently. It's just about the size of a magazine, canvas, with leather accents and strap and a dull brass buckle.

Get a small backpack or hand over your mancard.

I don't care what you call them, "European Shoulder Bags" are still just purses.

Don't you have one of those swiss army backpacks? I thought you were looking at them and bought a while ago. It'd just grab a backpack and be done with it.

What is wrong with a backpack? Not sophisticated enough?

I just got done traveling w/ a backpack for a month. It's kind of cumbersome and was always afraid it would knock shit over if i turned around. I will definitely get a shoulder strapped messengerbag type thing for the next time i travel.

I think i ended up returning it, it was too big from what i recall.

It's called a backpack bro. Everything else looks like you're gay. Not that there is a problem with that...

My only issue with a bag that size is that since I don't have enough to really fill it, the bag won't hold any form/shape.

Just keep a piece of cardboard or a notebook or something to keep at least one side of the bag. I always carry around at least one notebook for this reason.

yeah... cuz walking into an office every day with a backpack is really "manly". 🙄
