Possible to change LCD in laptop?

I have laptop right now that has a 15.4 XGA display. Is it possible to change just the LCD to a 15.4 SXGA+ display? If so, where could I purchase one?
 
I have heard several questions like this before and most of the time the answer is. If it's an "older" laptop it would just be better to get a newer laptop and even if it's a new laptop the cost of the new screen really doesn't justify it. Better off to sell the laptop and buy a new one with the 15.4 SXGA+ display.

Well I've replaced a laptop LCD before but only with the same screen from another fried laptop of the same model.
 
Yeah, don't worry, because we don't need to know the brand, model or anything else informative for that type of question.
