so i have 2 ISP.
verizon router default gateway: 192.168.1.1
comcast router default gateway: 10.1.10.1
most of the time, im using the comcast. devices have static IP for cameras, and others that need static to work with port forwarding.

now, if comcast isp is having issues, i just start using the verizon isp. all is good EXCEPT for those machines that have assigned static addresses. i would have to manually change the comast 10.1.10.xxx to verizon 192.168.1.xxx.
is there anything to force the verizon router to use the 10.1.10.1 like comcast?
im told SonicWall will auto switch the ISP (using whatever ISP that is best), so i dont have to manually jump the cat5. also, SonicWall will handle the IP issues i mentioned.
i really dont want to get SonicWall cause that's $1000. please advise.

comcast & verizon router/gateways become simple modem in this case.

You need another wifi access point (could be another wifi router in AP mode) to attach to one of the dual wan router LAN port if you have wifi devices or buy a dual wan wifi router.

By the way, if your comcast/verizon subscription speed is over 100Mbps, you probably have to buy dual wan router that supports gigabits WAN/LAN ports.

so this should work right? i hope the settings in the TP dual wan are easy to mess with....
i still dont fully understand how forwarding works.
as of now, comcast router has this for 1 of the security cam for port forwarding
10.1.10.108 port 554
on the verizon router, i have
192.168.1.108 port 554

You only have one set of IP range behind dual wan router, not two.

Virtual server is described on page 52 of the product manual. Think it's simple. Just choose WAN1 or WAN2 or both I think, and forward to your internal IP you want.

Cut the comcast router and the verizon router both out of that diagram. Plug directly in from the modem/ONT into the Dual Wan router (that's the purpose of it). You then configure each WAN link in the firmware of the Dual Wan router. Having two routers in a row like your diagram is going to create double NAT and cause all sorts of problems.

Note that you will have different public IP addresses depending on whether the Comcast or Verizon WAN link is active (or if you're doing load balancing on them), and any external connections (site to site VPNs, web services, etc) need to be properly configured so either IP takes you to the same place and is handled the same way internally.

He just need to configure both routers as modem bridges and connect to dual wan router's WAN ports.

there's no modem/ONT. as seen in this illustration, i only have a router from comcast. and a router from verizon. https://support.myrepublic.com.sg/h...t-is-the-ONT-modem-and-basic-troubleshooting-

how to configure a router to act as a modem bridge? there's nothing in verizon router's settings for modem bridges.
all this time i thought the physical connection woould be:
1- take verizon router port 1, jump cat 5 to port WAN 1 on the TPlink
2- take comcast router port 1, jump cat 5 to port WAN 2 on the TPlink
3- play around with the settings in TP dual wan box via a browser
done!

4- but it looks like u want me to change some settings in the comcast/verizon router to act as a modem bridge?

You should find out your router models, google the manuals for the model and read how to configure them in bridge mode.

There *has* to be a modem/ONT, or nothing would work :p Where do the WAN cables currently plugged into the two routers connect to? Are these business or residential connections?

You only need to reconfigure the routers as bridges if they are modem/router combo devices (which is why there might not be a second physical box for either), when configured as a bridge all of the routing is disabled and they're literally just acting as modems. You'll need to look up individual device models to identify what they are and how to configure them.

on the verizon box, there's a phone line going in, and 4 LAN. similar to this

If your DSL modem is versalink7500

You better download each router's model manuals and save them on your PC before doing any reconfiguration.

In case if you configured them wrong, you will have a reference copy locally.

By the way, you can always call ISP tech support and ask their help if you need to put the modem router in another mode.

Once you have the dual wan router, also make sure one ISP works flawlessly before trying the other.
