I have bump keys and I broke into my apartment for fun twice. I showed people that yesterday. The other day my roommate forgot her keys and she broke into the apartment with a freaking credit card ><. Anyways.. on the note of insecurity...

Is it possible to bump open a car door? My friend got his iPod jacked and he saw no traces of a break-in. I've seen cars broken into by prying doors open or jamming screwdrivers into locks, but in both cases, you'll easily spot the damage. My friend parked in what he called a shady neighborhood and just to be safe he unlocked/locked his doors multiple times to make sure it was locked (Acura TSX). I'm figuring he might've pressed hsi remote too many times that he got confused and ACCIDENTALLY unlocked it. This may be apossibility although he denies it. That's why I'm asking if it's possible to use a bump key of some sort to open the car door. Yea I guess the alarm will go off, but who really cares about car alarms? I hear them all the time down the street and honestly I don't give a damn... unless it sounds like mine.

Some cars, yes.

Some of the newer locks are bump resistant - but many cars which use a more conventionally shaped key are vulnerable.

Locks that use discs, or non-pin locks are resistant.

Not really a direct answer to your question, but I recently found out even new cars can be opened with 2 screwdrivers and a coat hanger. I was so proud of myself for breaking into a ford focus with this technique. I used to do it to my 82 Caprice and never thought it would work with a newer car.
Basically, if the car unlocks when you open the door from the inside, you can open it with a coat hanger (the two screwdrivers are used to *slightly* prop the door open, leaving little or no damage).
