Possible to block IE/password protect Phoenix?

I'm just posting this here cause I know people will read it... so if it gets moved, no big deal. :p

So anyways... one of the computers at work, the guy who brought it in needs a way to block access to the internet or have it only accessible by one user, password protected or some such. Before doing anything I installed the latest build of Phoenix, and hid the IE icons. HOwever it's still possible to get to IE if you really want to (WinXP) - and anybody can access Phoenix.

So I'm thinking, with Phoenix as the default browser, is there a way to password protect it or something, or only allow access to particular users?

thanks in advance :p

Wrong forum. I have some possible answers, but I will refrain from posting them due to your rude posting.

Starting a thread in the incorrect forum (and bragging about the blatant disregard for the topics) is rude in my opinion.

gimme a friggin break. i posted it here since there are many more people that visit this forum than, say, the software forum... which would result in getting a response more quickly. As if your comments in my thread are any better than me posting the thread here. Anyway, posted in software.. so bug off :p

There are some programs that will let you lock the PC from running certain programs
You can always disable it whenever you need to use the browswer and reenable it when you step away.

Wait until you see his post in SW, it was ruder than this one. He's on my DNH list ;) Not that is matters, with thread titles like 'OT asswads', he won't be around much longer.

Perhaps if people would quit posting on topic posts in off topic we wouldn't have that problem! :)

I replied to that thread. I was the helpful post. I do that on occassion. You've read enough of my posts to see one or two helpful ones. ;)

Nah, that would be way too easy.

Okay there, Bill. I think my use of smileys was a perfectly obvious indication of the implied tone. No reason to think that "I won't be around much longer" because of what I posted just now. Not acustom to sarcasm/humour are ya? Or just take things a little too seriously maybe.. heh, whatever though. :)

Sorry... but I certainly didn't see his original post as rude. The subsequent replies (from other users) were MUCH more rude.

I just looked at the first 50 threads in OT, and it seems that about 5 of those could easily be in another forum. Shouldn't those people be ordered to redirect their threads too?

Thank you :D There is at least one (or two, if you count nogmonkey when he's not an assWAD! :p) person (people) who are sane here. heh. that's ok though, I don't take things quite as seriously as the people who've replied seem to.. it's all good, makes for some entertainment at work :)

Yes, they should.

I could probably find another hundred more examples, if I were so inclined. ;)

That was an opinionated thing, which could have gone in several forums, including this one. Asking for help on the other hand belongs in only a couple of forums.

..... :p

I can follow your example and post a bunch of things that belong in the real forums, or I can continue to be an asswad posting things like what I posted here. If I posted a thread in this forum that belonged in one of the real forums I would get so much crap from people that it would not be funny anymore (atleast by the 4th or 5th page). So trust me, I will refrain from doing so.

I would ignore the OT forum if I could, but unfortunately, I would miss some really interresting threads if I only paid attention to the forums they should have been posted in.

See what I mean? I would miss inciteful posts by Ameesh if I didn't read OT on occassion. Nothing like seeing into the psyche of a typical Microsoft employee to make me feel better about despising that corporation :D

Anyhow, Ameesh, does IE have the features zCypher is looking for?

It's all becoming clear now. :p
