Possible to add a drive to a 0 array?

Right now I have Vista Ultimate 64 installed on a RAID-0 array that is 2 36GB Raptors. My friend just gave me another 36GB Raptor that he wasn't using so I want to add it to the array. Is there any way to do this without formatting and starting from scratch?

I highly doubt this is possible, but I thought I would ask first just in case there is a way 🙂

Even if it were possible (I don't think it is), you would see zero speed increase with any existing data on the first two drives, including your OS.

If it's hostraid (motherboard) then you must destroy the current array (and its data) and create a new three member raid0 array. This is easy to do without losing anything by using a program called Acronis True Image.

Better raid cards support expansion where you can add another disk and go into the console and expand the current array on the fly. (although if there is important data you should still back it up using TI as any glitch causing the rebuild to stop will kill the data!)

Yeah, not really looking for a speed increase but more space is always helpful, 67GB was getting a bit too small.

And thanks for the responses, I think I am going to start clean
